New treatment for cellulite.
VelaShape - New treatment for cellulite.
Nowadays there is a new technology in the fight against that orange skin known as cellulite.
K. Rebes, a former flight attendant, is pleased with her results. "My stomach area is tighter,” said Rebes. “My pants are looser after just one treatment." She gives credits to the cellutites treatment called VelaShape, FDA-approved in August 2007. VelaShape uses massage and two forms of energy.
So how does it work?
"Broad spectrum light and radio-frequency power that heats the tissue," explained plastic surgeon Dr. J. Moreehead. "Not just the skin, more importantly deeper in the skin." Dr. Moreehead says that deep heating breaks up cellulite better than ever, so it can be more easily metabolized and flushed from the body.
Dr. Moreehead admits to being a skeptic about cellulite treatments. But he says he's seen good results smoothing dimples on thighs, tightening tummies, and leveling love handles on men. In 19 years as an aesthetician, Sandi Dixon Perry says it's the first non-invasive body shaping device that she's seen give immediate results."They're noticing incredible inch loss and also firming, tightening in the areas that we're treating," says Perry. "We've actually had clients call the day after their treatment telling us that they can actually see change."
Other cellulite regimens may take a dozen or so cellulites procedures over time. VelaShape commits to have results in 4 to 6 treatments, 30 days or less. The treatment manufacturer admits the patients needs to have maintenance only a few times a year instead of every month.
VelaShape has only been on the market for two months, so not many people have tried it. And results do vary. Some may see a 3-inch loss and virtually all of the cellulite disappears, others may see no change.
Costs begin at about a thousand dollars. It is not covered by insurance. Something very similar to this treatment is hidrolipoclasy, click here for more information
